About The Position

Work as part of Booz Allen’s Government Relations team to advance key policy priorities, advocacy efforts, and strategic relationships. You’ll collaborate across the team to deepen your understanding of federal policymaking while growing your network on Capitol Hill and within the Washington policy ecosystem. In this role, you will research, develop, and coordinate materials that effectively position Booz Allen’s business interests in government policies and programs. Responsibilities include analyzing legislation, monitoring hearings and events, conducting targeted policy research, preparing background documents, and tracking priority issues across the Government Relations portfolio. You will also monitor federal legislative and regulatory developments, providing timely insights on emerging risks and opportunities. The Government Relations team is seeking someone who can elevate our engagement with Congress—bringing strategic focus, urgency, and strong political instincts. We need an individual who understands the broader policy landscape while managing the details that drive outcomes on Capitol Hill.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working in a Congressional office
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of public policy and congressional processes
  • Ability to exercise sound political judgement while navigating the legislative and political cycles of congress
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a collaborative team
  • Ability develop high quality written products for executive review on tight timelines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines simultaneously
  • Bachelor’s degree in Government, Political Science, Public Policy, Business Administration, or Public Administration

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the defense authorization process
  • Experience with cyber, tech, government modernization, or national security issues
  • Experience with supporting executive leaders and preparing briefing materials
  • Knowledge of government relations tracking platforms and political intelligence tools

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a focal point for managing Booz Allen’s Congressional relationships and identifying opportunities to strengthen key connections.
  • Lead and coordinate Congressional engagement activities, including fly-ins, Hill Days, site visits, and senior executive meeting preparation.
  • Represent Booz Allen on Capitol Hill, engaging Congressional offices and staff on behalf of Government Relations Sector Leads.
  • Develop rapid‑notification strategies and communications campaigns to support timely outreach to Congress.
  • Enhance Government Relations’ use of AI, internal CRM systems, and external data platforms to increase organizational effectiveness.
  • Track legislative, appropriations, and political developments to anticipate issues affecting Booz Allen.
  • Monitor hearings, media activity, and the Congressional schedule to maintain comprehensive situational awareness.
  • Support Sector Leads with policy research and recommendations on legislation, proposals, and advocacy priorities.
  • Coordinate annual Government Relations campaigns to drive legislative, funding, and engagement outcomes for the firm.
  • Assist in managing relationships with external political consultants to support campaign influence and access.
