About The Position

This position serves as a statewide early learning expert to early learning coalitions, early learning partners, and stakeholders for the Division of Early Learning (DEL) program initiatives.  Promote awareness and support of The Division’s program initiatives through written communication, conducting training, and providing technical assistance and consultation services regarding Florida’s early learning and developmental standards and guidelines, quality childcare, early childhood professional learning and coaching, early childhood screening and assessment, childcare regulations and CLASS program assessment. This position is located in Tallahassee, Florida and requires the employee to work on-site.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Write reports summarizing major findings offering policy recommendations for the coalitions, agency, and Legislature.
  • Coordinate and provide technical assistance and training opportunities. Provide train-the-trainer opportunities for individuals who wish to deliver DEL training ensuring coordination with Coalitions.
  • Create and develop resource materials appropriate for use by the early learning community.
  • Coordinate statewide logistics for successful program implementation.
  • Promote interagency collaboration by ensuring DEL representation on external committees and projects. Coordinate with other organizations and programs engaged in related activities and represent the DEL in meetings, conference calls, and work groups.
  • Serve as project lead and subject matter expert for one or more DEL initiatives and be knowledgeable of others.
  • Work with DEL Information Technology and Data teams to support the implementation of data collection, quality, and reports.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and DEL management to develop Scope of Work agreements (SOW) to meet the needs of programs and projects; function as project manager for assigned contracts.
  • Conduct original research and analyses of early learning programs supported by the state and report the results to agency leadership and at state and national conferences.
  • Develop and provide information, materials, technical assistance, and other resources and services, to support the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of early learning programs based on child performance standards adopted by the DEL.
  • Provide support and guidance to agency staff for program development using research-based knowledge of child development and early childhood professional learning systems.
  • Keep abreast of state and federal legislation, rules and regulatory requirements, and the DEL policies and procedures.
  • Provide detailed records and reports to the supervisor at least monthly, more frequently if required; position is accountable for productive use of time and assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
