About The Position

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL in the department of Readiness and Community Transition. The mission of the Department of Readiness and Community Transition in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to prepare inmates for successful reintegration into society by providing programs, resources, and support that address their individual needs. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.

Responsibilities

  • Program Data Analysis and Improvement: Assist in analyzing program data, OBIS reports, and other reports to recommend changes that enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and cost savings, while monitoring contract site visits and evaluations.
  • Procurement and Resource Management: Manage special projects, including procurement, invoice certification, and expenditure tracking, while preparing and tracking purchase requests, soliciting program materials, and ensuring efficient resource management.
  • Grant Monitoring and Applications: Support grant management by monitoring awards, reviewing funding utilization, researching grant opportunities, preparing applications, and serving as a project manager for the grant application process.
  • Correspondence and Public Inquiries: Draft responses to inquiries from inmates, families, staff, and the public, conducting research to provide accurate and appropriate information.
  • Legislative and Reporting Support: Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Substance Abuse Treatment Report, Legislative Budget Requests, and Bill Analysis, while assisting with competitive solicitations, project research, and reporting.
