About The Position

This is a professional position in which the employee functions as a team member who monitors, provides consultation to management and staff, and performs firsthand solutions about the processing, evaluation, and determining of eligibility for complex licensure applications with the Board of Nursing. This position located in Tallahassee and is in-office, in-person. The incumbent must be able to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies and procedures that are applicable to the Board of Nursing. The employee in this position reports to the Program Operations Administrator of the Board of Nursing’s Licensing Team and assists that position and the team’s Regulatory Supervisors by performing the following duties: Generates the Day Since Deficiency Letter (DXA502) report at 75 days for all applications (Exam, Re-Exam, Endorsement, Multistate, APRN, and Autonomous APRN) and audits the file for updates and possible approval to assure the Board of Nursing’s compliance with applicable Florida statutes and rules and agency processes. Produces letters for approval or an update on deficiencies and notifies applicant each applicant. Provides daily assistance to management and staff through corresponding verbally and in writing with applicants to clarify concerns, obtain additional information or to explain relevant statutes or processing procedures as defined by Chapter 464, Part I & II, F.S., and applicable board rules; generating standard correspondence to applicants to notify them of deficiencies and application status; and informing management of potential improvements in such processes for the Board to better meet operational objectives. Works directly with the Special Testing Accommodations coordinator and partner organizations, NCSBN and Pearson Vue to manage Special Accommodations for NCLEX examinees. Assists Deputy Executive Director with content and editing of the Board’s production of The Florida Nursing Quarterly. Performs other duties as assigned by managerial staff.

Requirements

  • Ability to compile, organize and analyze data.
  • Ability to proofread documents for spelling and grammatical accuracy, and punctuation
  • Ability to investigate, analyze, and resolve complaints.
  • Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies and procedures for licensing and regulation of professionals and facilities, and consumer protection.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years’ experience that includes data entry, document preparation, evaluating documents or processes for compliance with regulations, customer service, and/or handling sensitive information.
  • College education can substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
