About The Position

Booz Allen is seeking a Government Contracts Associate General Counsel to combine federal procurement law expertise with big picture business thinking to empower innovation, drive critical missions, and deliver enduring growth and value. This role is part of the Government Markets Practice Area, where you will join a team of experienced professionals motivated to excel and realize values-driven change for clients, colleagues, and communities. You will help propel a forward-thinking and purpose-driven team as they advance clients’ missions, serving as an attorney providing support and leveraging experience with federal procurement transactions at all stages, as well as regulatory compliance. This position is part of a broader legal department and the team of government markets attorneys supporting the federal business across civil, defense, and National Security Sectors. You will support as the lead Government Markets point of contact for Markets within the National Security Sector, working on a wide range of complex transactional issues at the prime and subcontract levels, and providing legal advice and counsel for Market leaders and their teams. The role requires anticipating business needs, developing practical solutions with agility and action, and establishing trusted partnerships across the company. You will collaborate with fellow members of the Legal, Ethics & Compliance team to protect and advance the company while navigating complex, multifaceted, and often novel legal and compliance risks. Guided by Booz Allen’s purpose and values, you will anticipate and proactively prepare for future issues. This position is located in McLean, VA.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience practicing law in a law firm, corporate, or government environment, including supporting commercial and technology matters
  • Experience with government contracts law, including FAR, DFARS, federal procurement statutes and regulations, and bid protest jurisprudence
  • Experience leading or assisting with prime contract and subcontract negotiations, pre-award support, and post-award counseling
  • Experience partnering closely with senior business leaders to develop comprehensive solutions to problems
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to evaluate risks and root causes, and to aid in designing and implementing practical mitigation strategies or action plans
  • Ability to listen actively and ensure that the right questions are being asked and answered and translate legalese or regulations into succinct, clear, and workable business solutions
  • Ability to execute against clear goals, priorities, and success metrics or KPIs, and manage against program plans
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • J.D. degree
  • Active bar admission with any U.S. state bar

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with commercial and non-FAR-based contracting, including federal or non-federal, or commercial
  • Experience with government contracting, including in a professional services firm
  • Experience with government contracts regulatory framework, especially rules and considerations for Post-Government
  • Experience advising on information security statutes, regulations, and compliance frameworks, including FISMA, DFARS, and NIST
  • Knowledge of employment and competition, antitrust, organizational, and personal conflicts of interest, or gifts and antikickback
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment
