The Government and Community Relations Manager II (GCRM) is a community relations role for experienced professionals skilled in local government and community relations. This role manages local government, business, and community relationships and issues within Duke Energy’s service territory, building support for corporate and community objectives with minimal oversight. The GCRM develops, implements, and monitors strategies for Duke Energy’s business objectives and issues, working with internal partners. The role is responsible for shaping local public opinion and policy in the communities served by Duke Energy. Specifically, the Hickory Region GCRM will maximize public relations opportunities to enhance corporate reputation and develop enduring relationships with key community leaders and elected officials, crucial for positive policy development at local, state, and federal levels. This role also serves as the primary contact for company operations issues and community leaders during major storm events and provides strategic Foundation and community investments aligned with company goals.
