About The Position

The Government Affairs & Grants Manager supports the organization’s government relations, community engagement, and grant administration efforts. This role is responsible for coordinating outreach initiatives, monitoring policy and funding opportunities, assisting with grant applications and reporting, and providing administrative and operational support across multiple projects. The manager works closely with internal departments, community partners, government agencies, and funding organizations to help advance organizational goals, maintain compliance, and strengthen stakeholder relationships. Reports to Director, Government and Community Affairs.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in business administration, government affairs, grants administration, public affairs, community engagement, or administrative coordination
  • Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
  • Ability to manage confidential information professionally
  • Strong relationship-building and project coordination skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, communications, public administration, nonprofit management, business, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate government relations and community outreach activities
  • Assist with preparing briefing materials, reports, presentations, and correspondence
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and stakeholder engagement activities
  • Maintain relationships with government agencies, community organizations, and external partners
  • Respond to government and community inquiries and support outreach initiatives
  • Assist working with external stakeholders such as, National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), Defense Workforce Innovation & Technology Center (DWIT) and regional universities and colleges.
  • Research grant and funding opportunities from government, and foundation
  • Assist with preparing grant applications, proposals, and supporting documentation
  • Track grant deadlines, reporting schedules, and compliance requirements
  • Maintain grant records, databases, and funding documentation
  • Coordinate collection of program data, budgets, and outcome reporting information
  • Assist with post-award grant administration and reporting
  • Manage calendars, schedules, meeting logistics, and travel arrangements
  • Prepare agendas, meeting minutes, spreadsheets, presentations and debriefing documents
  • Assists in maintaining organized files, databases, and tracking systems
  • Coordinate communications between internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Support special projects, community programs, and organizational initiatives
  • Perform general administrative support duties as needed
  • Draft emails, outreach materials, and stakeholder communications
  • Assist with public relations and community engagement efforts
  • Support company promotional activities (as needed)
