About The Position

This position with the Child Abuse Death Review (CADR) Unit contributes to the development and implementation of all aspects of statewide and community-level prevention initiatives addressing leading causes of preventable child death in alignment with Florida Statutes, Agency and Division-level SHIP and Strategic Plan priorities, and State CADR Committee prevention recommendations. This position will provide primary support to senior project coordinator on legislatively funded efforts, DOH prevention efforts, and State CADR Committee priorities regarding the development and implementation of prevention activities addressing preventable child death. Coordinate with Local CADR leadership, County Health Department (CHD) Directors and delegates, child welfare advocates, other community-level stakeholders and partners, as well as state-approved vendors to efficiently and effectively implement statewide and community-level prevention initiatives. This includes supporting procurement activities such as vendor coordination, purchase requests, invoice tracking, and ensuring timely fulfillment of materials and services in alignment with project timelines and budgetary guidelines. This position will assist the Senior Project Coordinator in developing and disseminating web-based media, including content for the CADR website, training materials and presentations, required documentation to support CADR committee-related efforts, and updates to CADR’s external SharePoint page for committee members and stakeholders. This position provides technical assistance to State CADR Committee including coordination of committee meetings, disseminating relevant resources, and providing facilitation support to committee leadership. Assists in coordination and facilitation of Local CADR Committee Leadership meetings including training, disseminating relevant resources, and providing technical support as needed. This position will contribute to assessment, analysis, and preparation of CADR Annual Statistical Report. This position will support the Senior Project Coordinator with logistics for the CADR Annual Summit, including event planning, procurement coordination, and engagement of national and state-level expert presenters and trainers for CADR members and stakeholders. This position will conduct regular assessments of statewide data collection methods, data quality, and analysis, including coordination with DOH epidemiology team and National Center for Fatality Review and Prevention, to conduct research and data analysis examining areas of interest and factors contributing to leading causes of preventable child death. This position will maintain up to date professional knowledge in the identification and treatment of child abuse, including short- and long-term health outcomes as it relates to the bureau programs. The person will attend conferences and training institutes to enhance knowledge and skills, particularly as related to trauma informed care and its application in the fatality review setting. This position will perform other duties as assigned. This position requires daily in-office or field work.

Requirements

  • Current Florida Department of Health employee.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Experience in project coordination/management.
  • Knowledge of project coordination/management.
  • Knowledge of state procurement guidelines.
  • Skill in organizing and summarizing data and program information.
  • Skills in written and oral communication.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to coordinate meetings, training, and events.
  • Ability to work independently or in a group.
  • Ability to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years Project Coordination experience.
  • Purchasing/Procurement experience is preferred.
  • Experience coordinating large projects.
  • Experience applying Florida Statutes and/or Florida Administrative Code to program policy/procedures.
