This position will provide support for Congressional legislative/policy projects in support of NCMEC’s mission and programs to help find missing children, combat child sexual exploitation, and prevent child victimization. The Government Affairs Policy Analyst will report to the Vice President, Government Affairs and will work with various NCMEC staff to create legislative collateral relating to NCMEC programs of work; track the status of pending Congressional bills relevant to NCMEC’s mission; create redlines and summaries of tracked bills; conduct legislative and related research; prepare background prep on upcoming meetings and initiatives; support communications with and outreach to Federal government and legislative staff relating NCMEC data, programs, legislative initiatives, meeting requests, and related collateral; track communications with Congressional legislative staff and external stakeholders/partners for internal metrics; help coordinate Congressional meetings and support planning of legislative briefings/deliverables; support legislative analysis and organizational strategy on Congressional legislative and policy initiatives relating to and in support of NCMEC’s core mission and programs. The Government Affairs Policy Analyst will promote a professional image and communicate with team members, senior leaders, external partners, legislative and government agency offices, and members of the public in a courteous and professional manner, including responding promptly when returning telephone calls and replying to internal and external correspondence.
