About The Position

This position is based onsite in our Washington DC office. Purpose and Scope/General Summary: JBS USA is seeking a Policy Analyst to help lead a growing Government Relations team responsible for JBS/Pilgrim’s engagement with key influencers in Washington DC on issues related to the meat/protein sector including, climate change and sustainability, trade, rural economic development and many other topics. The Policy Analyst should be a self-starter with an eagerness to work to build JBS/Pilgrim’s presence in Washington DC and advance our mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills needed.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations . Responsibilities

  • Assist in advocacy on major issues JBS/Pilgrim’s issue tracking
  • Research projects for team members
  • Attend meetings with trade associations, consultants, and Hill/Administration members.
  • Track, review and analyze pertinent legislation and regulations.
  • Monitor media for relevant press releases and articles.
  • Prepare policy briefs, presentations, and other correspondence.
  • Cover Congressional hearings and briefings as well as Administration stakeholder calls.
  • Some administrative tasks including assisting in meeting scheduling and vendor management.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Base salary range of $67,000-$82,000
