About The Position

This position is designed to provide critical support to the Government Affairs team, focusing on policy research, stakeholder engagement, and operational assistance. In this role, you will help facilitate legislative meetings and support the team’s advocacy efforts. Experience in trade associations, campaign operations, or grassroots development is beneficial.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in political campaigns, trade associations, government affairs, public sector, public affairs, or corporate government relations.
  • Strong organizational and research skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Critical and strategic thinking, with the ability to adapt to evolving policy landscapes.
  • Proactive problem-solving and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain productivity in challenging situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in trade associations, campaign operations, or grassroots development is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Government Affairs and team to maintain issue advocacy tools that support policy conversations with lawmakers, industry leaders, and key stakeholders on topics such as transportation, packaging and recycling, agriculture, and portfolio transformation.
  • Support the Government Affairs team by coordinating logistics for meetings, tracking legislative developments, and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners, including trade associations and consultants specifically as it pertains to industry fly-ins, facility tours, and executive engagements.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of materials for policy briefings, legislative visits, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Conduct research and analysis on relevant policy issues, synthesizing information from diverse sources to inform team strategy and decision-making.
  • Ensure all activities and deliverables align with the organization’s objectives and are carried out with the highest level of integrity and ethics.

Benefits

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $110,700 - $185,250.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
