About The Position

As a Manager, Government & International Affairs, you will help represent Westinghouse interests. This representation will be before the U.S. Government, including Executive Offices and Agencies, and important third parties. These third parties include associations, think tanks, non-governmental organizations, foreign government representatives, and others. You will work with governmental and industry stakeholders to achieve Westinghouse's trade agenda, promoting civil nuclear exports globally. You will provide support in advancing our public policy agenda by implementing our strategic direction. Specifically, as it relates to outreach, messaging and engagement with government officials and their staff, third-party allies, and industry partners on specific, high priority initiatives. You will report to the Vice President, Government & International Affairs and be located at our Washington, DC location. This is a hybrid role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in government or private sector dealing with trade advocacy issues.
  • Expertise in dealing with high-profile partners such as elected officials, foreign government officials, executives, and a variety of external constituencies.
  • Experience with U.S. Government agency policy, including executive agency positions and procedures. Knowledge of energy sector issues a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Be the trusted advisor to the Vice President of Government and International Affairs and senior Westinghouse leaders.
  • Help develop and implement advocacy strategies for key our priorities requiring U.S. Government advocacy. Ensure we are included and present in public policy debates affecting Westinghouse interests and businesses.
  • Work with Government Relations peers in a, collaborative team environment. Help leverage Westinghouse's participation in outside business councils and trade associations.
  • Deliver communications (briefing memos, talking points) to company partners regarding policy developments that could affect the business, ensuring an opportunity to influence outcomes.
  • Experience working with the Commerce Department Advocacy Center, and familiarity with the interagency team for civil nuclear exports is a plus.
