About The Position

This position supports the organization's government business operations by providing cost-related information and overseeing cost and rate audits in compliance with government regulations, primarily in the defense sector. The role involves collaborating with the sales team on accurate cost calculations and quotes for government products, analyzing the financial performance of the government segment, and maintaining cost rates for pricing contracts with the federal government. A key responsibility includes managing Government Property, covering marking, physical inventory, contract compliance, and government regulatory requirements. The accountant will also lead and oversee DCMA or DCAA audits related to costs, rates, and financial data for government contracts, demonstrating expertise in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) regulations. Support will be provided to the Controller and Government Segment leader for federal government business interactions, and collaboration with various internal departments is expected. Additionally, the role assists in billing milestones and addresses collection issues.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in accounting with a focus on cost accounting
  • 2-4 years of experience in government compliance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • MUST BE A SOLE US CITIZEN

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Oracle software is preferred.
  • Additional coursework or on-the-job training in government compliance and government property management is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure accurate cost calculations and quotes for government products, ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
  • Regularly update and analyze the financial performance of the government segment, focusing on cost rates.
  • Maintain and update cost rates essential for pricing contracts with the federal government.
  • Efficiently manage Government Property, encompassing marking, physical inventory, contract compliance, and government regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and oversee DCMA or DCAA audits pertaining to costs, rates, and other financial data associated with government contracts.
  • Exhibit expertise in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) regulations.
  • Provide necessary support to the Controller and Government Segment leader to facilitate business interactions with the federal government.
  • Collaborate with various functional departments within the organization as required.
  • Assist in billing milestones and address collection issues as they arise.
