About The Position

Now Hiring! Government Account Sales Representative (Outside Sales). The Government Account Sales Representative will drive growth within municipal, city, county, and state government sectors. This role requires a seasoned sales professional with direct experience working with government entities, strong knowledge of public procurement processes, and the ability to build long-term relationships with decision-makers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years of direct sales experience working with government entities.
  • Proven success selling into municipal, county, or state agencies.
  • Strong understanding of Government procurement processes.
  • Strong understanding of Bid preparation and submission.
  • Strong understanding of Contract compliance.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel throughout Kentucky as needed.
  • Superior proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office products, or other proprietary software.
  • Government sales experience.
  • Commonwealth of Kentucky contract experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Relationship building with Public Sector leader.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail; exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information to others in verbal and written formats.
  • Ability to work with a team and members of other departments on known concepts.
  • Provide proof of having a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a vehicle to drive to scheduled appointments safely.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow sales within government accounts, including city, county, and state agencies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Government purchasing officers, Facility managers, and Procurement departments.
  • Identify and pursue new government contract opportunities, including RFPs, RFQs, and bids.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract award and ongoing account management.
  • Work closely with Baumann Paper Company’s internal bid team to ensure compliance and accuracy in all submissions.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of government opportunities across the state of Kentucky.
  • Conduct on-site visits, product demonstrations, and solution-based selling presentations.
  • Stay current on government purchasing regulations, cooperative purchasing programs, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with customer service and operations teams to ensure high levels of service and retention.
  • Introduce and utilize the Baumann commonwealth contracts of Janitorial, Office, and Wash-ware supplies.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
