About The Position

We are looking for a highly motivated, results-oriented professional with strong energy, passion, and a proven ability to drive new business growth within the public safety sector. This role will be part of an established, high-performing field sales team and will be responsible for a designated territory in California. The Field Account Executive will be instrumental in both expanding an existing customer base and developing new opportunities across the territory. This role requires executing a strategic sales approach while building strong relationships with public safety agencies. Requirements

  • Must reside in or adjacent to the assigned California territory
  • Ability to maintain a consistent field presence within California, with willingness to travel up to 50%
  • 5+ years of field-based, quota-carrying experience in technology sales (software and/or hardware), with a focus on territory development and new business acquisition
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Demonstrated success selling complex solutions in a performance-driven environment
  • Strong “hunter” mindset with a history of winning new accounts and displacing competitors
  • Experience navigating long, complex sales cycles and engaging stakeholders from end users through executive leadership levels
  • Proven ability to manage structured, process-driven sales methodologies
  • Self-starter with resilience, confidence, and a proactive approach to building and managing pipeline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with a results-driven focus
  • Physical and/or logical access to criminal justice information is an essential function of this role.
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass both the standard company background check for all employees and an enhanced criminal background check conducted by the Company’s state and local law enforcement partners conducted in compliance with the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information System (“CJIS”) security policy.
  • Employees in this role may also be subject to ongoing criminal background checks as required by the Company’s state and local law enforcement partners.
  • Candidates and/or employees who are not certified by state and local law enforcement to access criminal justice information will not be able to perform the essential functions of this role.
  • Employees who subsequently fail to obtain or maintain CJIS compliance may be reassigned or terminated.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and actively manage a substantial, established portfolio of public safety accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership growth
  • Balance new business development with ongoing account stewardship, prioritizing strategic engagement across a large and diverse customer base
  • Identify expansion and cross-sell opportunities within existing agencies by aligning solutions to evolving operational needs and budget cycles
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, maintaining regular touchpoints with command staff and decision-makers to reinforce value and drive adoption
  • Coordinate account planning activities to ensure coverage across a broad territory, effectively managing time, priorities, and customer engagement at scale
  • Deliver consistent account performance reviews and proactively address risks while uncovering opportunities to deepen relationships and increase wallet share
  • Design and execute a strategic plan to drive growth within the assigned territory
  • Own the full sales lifecycle, including prospecting, outreach, product demonstrations, trials, and contract negotiations with state and local law enforcement agencies
  • Consistently achieve or exceed individual quotas while contributing to broader team and company objectives
  • Expand within existing accounts while identifying and securing new agency relationships
  • Lead discussions focused on account growth and retention by understanding customer objectives, budgets, and decision-making structures
  • Strengthen market presence and support agency modernization efforts through customer engagement, marketing initiatives, executive briefings, and participation in industry events
  • Develop deep expertise in LexisNexis Risk Solutions offerings and the public safety landscape to effectively engage with command staff.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and proposals, drive urgency in deal cycles, and negotiate pricing and contract terms
  • Conduct account reviews, provide pipeline visibility, and maintain accurate sales forecasts
