About The Position

The Golf Shop Starter Marshall is responsible for directing and coordinating golfers before their rounds, assisting the Head Professional with daily operations, and managing tee sheets to ensure a smooth flow of play. This role involves greeting guests, enforcing club rules, regulating play on the course, and assisting with golf events and promotions. The position also requires providing information about resort facilities and local attractions, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

Knowledgeable in the game of golf and the resort golf courses.
Able to multi-task.
Must be pleasant, smiling and friendly.
Able to communicate verbally to employees, manager and guests/clients.
Ability to communicate over the phone or radio.
Able to lift/carry golf bags weighing up to and over 50 lbs.
Able to maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor.

Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate golfers prior to the start of their round.
Assist the Head Professional with the daily operations of the department.
Assist with the management of the daily tee sheets and the flow of rounds of golf to ensure a smooth operation.
Greet and welcome guests, ensuring personalized service.
Enforce all club rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course.
Regulate the flow of golf play on the course.
Assist in the promotion and coordination of tournaments, golf clinics, and other golf events.
Offer general assistance to guests, anticipating their needs and following standard operating procedures.
Provide information regarding the resort facilities and services and Big Island attractions.
Assist shop or cart attendants as needed.
Perform minor repair of golf clubs.
