About The Position

Under the supervision of the Retail Merchandiser Manager and Buyer, this position supports the daily retail operations of the Golf Club’s Pro Shop. This position focuses on providing exceptional service to all guests – both golfers and non-golfers – while maintaining professional presentations standards throughout the Pro Shop. Responsibilities include assisting with merchandising sales, inventory and other retail-related tasks.Supervision This position has no supervisory responsibility. Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities listed below are essential to the employee’s position. Some responsibilities are seasonal in nature. Requirements

  • High school / GED.
  • Previous experience in golf operations (inside and outside services) or retail experience required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in guest service, professionalism, and interpersonal communication
  • Strong sales with the ability to engage and assist customers.
  • Working knowledge of retail operations including ability to learn and apply product knowledge.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team.
  • Active participations in completion of tasks.
  • Has a strong focus on providing excellent service, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Reliable and dependable.
  • Highly organized.
  • Flexible to seasonal demands, special events, and changing merchandise.
  • High level of integrity and accountability when handling cash, transactions, and product.
  • Ability to use employee self-service on company’s human resources/payroll database.
  • Ability to use POS system, including processing sales, reconciling product to inventory, etc.
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • Ability to work schedule required to fulfill duties of position.
  • At times, individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to handle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.
  • Must seek approval from supervisor before incurring overtime
  • Schedule flexibility which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Regularly required to walk, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, and handle merchandise or fixtures.
  • Regularly required to talk and actively listen when assisting guests and team members.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and manual dexterity with strong hand–eye coordination.
  • Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms as part of daily merchandising duties.
  • Ability to work effectively around other people in a customer-facing environment.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of merchandise or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to operate a golf cart to move merchandise or assist with shop tasks as needed.
  • Must be able to steam product, as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Merchandising Support: Assist the Retail Merchandiser Manager and Buyer with all aspects of the Golf Shop retail operation, including product setup, display, tagging, steaming, and replenishment.
  • Visual Presentation: Maintain the overall appearance of the shop by ensuring displays are neat, clean, and visually appealing in accordance with established visual standards.
  • Guest Service: Greet and assist guests in a courteous and professional manner; offer product knowledge and make purchase recommendations to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Sales Transactions: Perform accurate sales transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system and ensure all purchases are processed efficiently.
  • Receiving and Invoicing: May assist with receipt, verification, and entering invoices into the POS system to maintain accurate inventory and cost records.
  • Inventory Control: Support the Retail Merchandiser Manager and Buyer with cycle counts, tagging, pricing, and restocking merchandise.
  • Product Knowledge and Promotion: Provide general information about golf products, promotions, and Golf Shop offerings.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization of merchandise areas, storage rooms, display fixtures and golf shop. This includes sweeping, dusting, cleaning windows, etc.
  • Attend meetings and trainings, as scheduled.
  • Conform with all safety standards and use of all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Performs all other duties, as assigned.
