About The Position
This position pays $12/hr plus commission. The Golf Shop Clerk is responsible for various customer service and operational tasks within the golf shop, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for golfers. This includes managing tee times, assisting with merchandise, handling transactions, and supporting golf professionals with daily duties.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and public relations skills required.
- Must be able to meet public in a friendly, courteous manner.
- Ability to stand throughout duration of shift.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Retail experience preferred.
- Computer experience preferred.
- Golf knowledge preferred.
Responsibilities
- Takes tee times as needed under club rules.
- Maintains up-to-date miscellaneous information regarding play, etc. to provide to golfers as they check in.
- Assists with displaying golf shop merchandise.
- Answers golf shop telephone(s).
- Responsible for maintaining play logs.
- Assist golf professionals with par stock levels.
- Checks golfers in and collects fees.
- Uses cash register.
- Assists customers in selection of merchandise.
- Wraps gifts.
- Keeps up with special events (golf tournaments, etc.).
- Assists golf professionals and Director of Retail with weekly/monthly display changes.
- Cleans and straightens golf shop as needed.
- Assists Golf Professionals in every day duties.
- Prepares and maintains coffee station daily.
- Maintains radio or other contact with the shop for up-to-date information on a regular basis.
