About The Position

The Golf Shop Assistant Manager position is responsible for assisting the professional staff with daily transactions, customer service and supervisory duties. This role involves establishing and maintaining collaborative efforts with internal and external customers, managing phone protocols, collecting fees, and reserving tee times. The assistant manager will also verify customer residency, assist with the general maintenance and cleanliness of the clubhouse, and aid in the presentation and sale of merchandise. Additionally, they will inform customers about daily information, prepare daily closing paperwork, and open and close facilities. This position also requires assisting other staff with special duties and demonstrating park district customer service standards, while adhering to all district and departmental safety, personnel, and administrative policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR and AED certification required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, BASSETT certification within three (3) months of date of hire.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (i.e., professional ability to attend to customer needs).
  • Ability to address complaints and resolve concerns as needed.
  • Good computer skills in common software programs.
  • Knowledge of the operations of golf course and facilities.
  • Excellent cash handling skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, support and maintain collaborative efforts with internal and external customers and organizations.
  • Maintain proper phone protocol.
  • Collect appropriate fees.
  • Reserve tee times.
  • Verify Naperville Park District residency.
  • Assist in general maintenance and cleanliness of clubhouse.
  • Assist in presentation and sale of merchandise.
  • Inform customers about daily information.
  • Prepare daily closing paperwork.
  • Open and close facilities.
  • Assist other staff with special duties assigned by professional staff.
  • Demonstrate and support park district customer service standards.
  • Follow district and departmental safety, personnel, and administrative policies, procedures and ordinances.
  • Perform job responsibilities of the player assistant/monitor pace of play.
  • Perform job responsibilities of the cart/range attendant.
  • Perform job responsibilities of the food service cashier.
