About The Position
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Golf Shop Office staff with daily operations and other golf-related areas. This role requires the candidate to be enrolled in a Professional Golf Management curriculum to qualify for the internship. The intern will contribute to the daily operations of the golf shop, assist with inventory control, and interact with guests and member committees.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in Professional Golf Management curriculum.
- Attending a two or four year College or University with an accredited P.G.M. program.
- Good positive team attitude.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Have a general knowledge of the Rules of Golf.
Responsibilities
- Assist the entire golf operations staff in performing duties relating to the daily operation of the golf shop.
- Responsible for daily opening and closing procedures (bank, computer, etc.).
- Attend continuing education and cross-training programs.
- Assist with inventory control on a monthly basis.
- Assist in daily golf shop maintenance (restocking, cleaning, reorganizing, etc.).
- Maintain and upkeep general golf shop supplies.
- Daily point of sale and scheduling tee times.
- Meet and exceed all guest expectations.
- Work with member committees on member events.
- Handle email and telephone inquiries.
