About The Position

Responsible for maintaining and servicing Unity’s golf equipment to ensure optimal functionality, safety, and compliance. Provide leadership, proactive problem solving and decision-making skills, solid time management to maintain Unity Village 9-hole golf course.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
  • Technical training for automotive repair.
  • Three years’ experience in golf course maintenance preferred.
  • Experience applying fertilizer and pesticides.
  • Demonstrated experience with moderately complex turf equipment and hand-held tools.
  • Customer service skills and the ability to assist campus patrons with directions or other requests.
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • Missouri non commercial Pesticide License preferred or willing to obtain within 60 days.
  • Quality: Able to provide high quality services and products while consistently seeking ways to improve outcomes and enhance services.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the completion of work assignments by crewmembers and assists with field decisions regarding job procedures, work standards and equipment use.
  • Assists in training new hires on proper operation of all related equipment.
  • Operates greens mowers, tee mowers, fairway mowers, sand trap rakes, sprayers, tractors, fertilizer spreaders, loaders, chain saws, trimmers, edger, deck mowers, aerifiers, top dressers, sod cutters and other specialized golf course equipment.
  • Performs routine golf course tasks including cutting and change pin placements, rake sand traps.
  • Applies chemicals and fertilizer.
  • Oversees and participates in tasks related to the routine maintenance of a golf course as well as special projects such as construction, renovation and/or reconstruction of greens, tees, fairways, roughs and landscaping.
  • Enforces safe working conditions with all job assignments and instructs staff on proper equipment and chemical use and work methods.
  • Perform timely servicing for small engines and golf carts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance repairs.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technology, and best practices for equipment maintenance.
  • Develop and follow a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment to minimize breakdowns and extend the life of assets.
  • Utilize electronic diagnostic equipment to identify equipment faults.
  • Support snow removal efforts, including working weekends or holidays as needed.
  • Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements and guidelines.
  • Conduct golf cart maintenance or repairs, as needed.
