About The Position

The groundskeeper will perform general labor functions for golf course maintenance. This is a seasonal position with leave benefits, working approximately six (6) months a year, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Experience in maintenance and general labor or gardening required.
  • Knowledge of and/or use common hand tools and equipment.
  • Communicates effectively with customers.
  • Safely operate light utility vehicle and golf carts.
  • Needs to bend, lift and maneuver 50 lbs.; works in inclement weather; and extensive use of back, arms, hands, and legs: and have good visual and auditory acuity to respond.
  • Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
  • Requires a criminal history background check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient and friendly service.
  • Maintains golf greens, tees, fairways and rough with regular weeding and mowing and moving holes as needed.
  • Work duties are performed outdoors so ability to perform manual labor under adverse weather conditions is necessary - hot sun, rain, wind, etc.
  • Must be physically able to operate maintenance equipment to include string trimmers, walking mowers, diggers, hand tools and other gardening equipment.
  • Maintains and rakes bunkers as needed.
  • Trims and maintains trees and shrubbery around walkways and fairway.
  • Operates and transports equipment in utility vehicle or golf cart.
  • Plants flowers, weeds flower beds, waters lawns and picks up general garbage and debris around the resort.
  • Provides routine maintenance of equipment and tools and reports any safety issues or repair needs to supervisor.
  • Promotes and follows safe workplace practices and policies.
  • If required to operate a motor vehicle, ability to provide a valid driver’s license, must be insurable and consent to a driving history background check.
  • Complies with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc.
  • Ensures that operation of equipment, tools and materials are handled in a safe manner.
  • Promotes internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior.
  • Other related duties as assigned or needed.
