Golf & Grounds Equipment Mechanic
About The Position
As a Golf & Grounds Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of golf course maintenance equipment, utility vehicles, tractors, small engines, and support equipment used throughout the resort. Reporting to the Golf Course Associate Superintendent and Grounds Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently to support daily golf course operations. This is an opportunity to work with a modern fleet of equipment while being part of a skilled and supportive Golf Course Maintenance team in the heart of Muskoka.
Requirements
- Experience repairing golf courses, turf, agricultural, landscape, or heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, diesel, and gasoline systems.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid Ontario driver's license preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
Nice To Haves
- Experience with golf course equipment, reel grinding, and cutting unit setup is preferred, but candidates with strong mechanical backgrounds from related industries are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on golf course and grounds equipment.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, diesel, gasoline, and mechanical systems.
- Maintain and service precision cutting units, including reel and bedknife grinding.
- Maintain accurate service records and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Assist with equipment preparation throughout the golf season and winter maintenance program.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
- Work collaboratively with the Golf Course Maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability.
