About The Position
Deerfield Golf Club, located in Newark, DE, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Part-Time Golf Course Maintenance! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. General Purpose: Performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and upkeep. Performs grounds maintenance and related tasks as required. Previous golf course experience is not required; however, a background in landscaping or general maintenance is helpful.
Requirements
- Less than high school education; or up to one month of related experience or training in landscaping, groundskeeping, or general maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. associates may be required to communicate with English-speaking customers or co-workers; equipment manuals are in English).
- Basic knowledge of landscaping, turf care, or general maintenance is a plus.
- Willingness to learn golf course-specific practices and procedures.
Nice To Haves
- Previous golf course experience is not required; however, a background in landscaping or general maintenance is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Performs general landscape maintenance using hand-held equipment.
- Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
- Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming, and mowing.
- Prepares soil beds for sod, seed, and vegetative material.
- Performs course detail work including weed removal and debris clean-up.
- Assists with golf course set-up procedures.
- Operates utility vehicles for hauling materials and removing debris.
- Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.).
- Operates all equipment safely and remains aware of associates and their surrounding work areas.
- Incorporates safe work practices in all aspects of job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
