About The Position

Omni PGA Frisco Golf Club, located near the PGA of America headquarters, is a premier golf destination featuring two championship courses, Fields Ranch East and Fields Ranch West, along with The Swing (a par-3 short course) and The Dance Floor (a putting course). Fields Ranch East is slated to host major tournaments including the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, KPMG Women's PGA Championship, and the PGA Championship. The Golf Course Maintenance role is crucial for operating and maintaining these world-class facilities.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • One (1) month of experience and knowledge of groundwork.
  • Ability to stand, walk, handle objects with hands, reach with arms, climb or maintain balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision abilities such as near vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Must be able to operate hand tools, trimming tools, power tools, and mowing equipment.
  • Ability to work long hours and at flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work under various weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
  • Foundational knowledge of golf, including its rules and typical playing conditions.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve set objectives.
  • Project a positive, professional image, showing self-motivation and consistent, dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hand mowers on greens, aprons, tees, fairways, rough, lake banks, around tees, and grounds.
  • Exercise extreme care to avoid injuring turf and shrubs.
  • Practice safety while operating equipment and report any equipment or course issues immediately.
  • Edge cart paths, flymo bunker faces, string trim lake banks and around tees, edges, and rake sand bunkers.
  • Complete jobs and clean up work areas as required.
  • Excavate and backfill trenches with hand tools.
  • Operate utility vehicles as required.
  • Ensure all necessary safety gear (glasses, ear plugs, hard hats) is worn while operating equipment and hand tools.
  • Clean, store, and maintain all tools and equipment properly.
  • Clean machines after use and make minor adjustments to equipment under supervision.
  • Maintain fuel and fluid levels for all equipment daily.
  • Inspect equipment before use and report problems or failures to the supervisor immediately.
  • Remain on cart paths when available and steer clear of high-traffic areas to minimize impact.
  • Assist with project tasks as instructed.
  • Pick up trash and debris while performing job duties.
  • Mow turf using tractors, ride-on machines, and specialist hand mowers.
  • Apply detail to courses, including edging cart paths, bunk faces, lake banks, and around tees.
  • Rake sand bunkers.
  • Apply eco-friendly turf treatments for weeds, diseases, and pests when instructed.
  • Renovate bunkers and hazards like water features.
  • Apply irrigation and fix drainage issues.
  • Perform upkeep and fueling of maintenance equipment, check fluids, report issues, and clean equipment.
  • Maintain trees, bushes, and native plants.
  • Excavate trenches with hand tools and operate utility vehicles as needed.
  • Pick up trash and debris and blow cart paths.
  • Behave courteously and conscientiously toward golfers and homeowners.
  • Practice safety on the job, performing tasks with minimal disruption to golf course members and guests.
  • Return all equipment to designated locations and keep maintenance areas clean and clutter-free.
  • Perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
