About The Position

This is a seasonal part-time position where the Golf Course Maintenance Worker II will maintain the grounds and turf of golf courses in playing condition as directed by the Superintendent. The role involves performing various maintenance tasks, operating a range of equipment, and ensuring the overall upkeep and presentation of the golf course.

Requirements

Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbal and written.
Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
1 year of experience or equivalent training/education in turf.
Ability to use hand and power tools necessary.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance to fairway, tee, and putting surfaces to repair ball marks and divots, verticutting, as well as general area cleanup to include cart paths.
Operates triplex riding mower, reel mowers, rotary and/or gang mowers, string trimmers, fly mower, bunker rake, hand and walking blowers, power sweepers/blowers, top-dressers, aerators, sod machine, construction hand tools (cutoff saw, sod cutter, circular saw, drill, etc.), light duty riding mowers, skid steer, and light duty tractors.
Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
Sets tee markers.
Maintains ball washers, yardage plates and out of bounds markers.
Rakes and removes debris from course and surrounding areas.
Applies sand and seed to divots on tees and in fairways and drop areas.
Perform selective weed removal and planting to native grasses/prairie areas, as directed.
Make light repairs to cart paths with repair cutting and patching asphalt.
Perform general maintenance/labor including seeding/sodding - hand labor, hand watering, quick couplers, irrigation head connection, shoveling, raking, sweeping, painting, equipment cleaning, and building cleaning.
Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis; reports equipment problems or failures to the mechanic immediately.
Cleans and returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility; and cleans the maintenance areas.
Follows proper safety protocol at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
