About The Position

The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of specialized golf course maintenance equipment to support the daily maintenance and presentation of the golf course. This position plays a critical role in delivering exceptional playing conditions through the operation of fairway mowers, rough mowers, tractors, and other specialized turf maintenance machinery. The Equipment Operator must demonstrate attention to detail, equipment proficiency, and a commitment to maintaining championship-quality conditions.

Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate and learn a wide variety of specialized equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work early mornings, and holidays if needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment like commercial mowers, agricultural equipment, Snow removal equipment, or turf maintenance equipment preferred.
  • Golf course maintenance experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of specialized golf course maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform daily mowing of fairways, roughs, approaches, and other turf areas as assigned.
  • Maintain consistent mowing patterns and high-quality turf presentation standards.
  • Adjust equipment settings to meet daily agronomic objectives.
  • Conduct daily pre-operation and post-operation inspections.
  • Clean, fuel, and maintain assigned equipment.
  • Report mechanical issues promptly and accurately.
  • Assist the Equipment Manager or Mechanic with routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain organized equipment storage and wash areas.
  • Follow all departmental safety procedures and operating standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
  • Use proper personal protective equipment when required.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow team members to achieve departmental goals
