About The Position

The City of Farmington is seeking to fill 6 temporary, part-time, seasonal positions for Golf Course Attendants. These roles will encompass duties in the Pro Shop, Cart/Range, and as a Starter/Ranger. The position is paid at $12.00 per hour and offers varied days and hours of work. Applications will be received until filled.

Requirements

Subject to the City's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing).
Valid New Mexico driver's license with an acceptable driving record for the past three years or state of current residency.
Ability to work harmoniously with patrons and fellow employees.
Good oral and written communications skills.
Must be able to count change.
Ability to maintain records and files.
Working knowledge of the rules of golf.
Ability to learn and enforce course policies, rules, and regulations.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other City personnel, and the public.
Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Extensive background checks required.

Responsibilities

Collects green fees, sells golf supplies and concessions, and starts players on the golf course.
Acquaints new golfers with course rules and regulations.
Sells season passes and assists in keeping records.
Cleans pro shop and restrooms daily and as needed.
Monitors inventory levels and assists professional staff with sales and inventory counts.
Promotes positive customer service practices on the phone and in person.
Attends to the golf cart fleet and driving range.
Places water jugs on the course, keeping them filled and cups supplied.
Stages carts, including bringing them from the cart barn, cleaning and checking them after use, and returning them to the cart barn.
Ensures carts are available for player use at all times.
Ensures the practice range is open and ready for players in the mornings.
Picks, cleans, and fills dispenser with range balls throughout the day.
Ensures the clubhouse and practice range areas are kept orderly and clean, including restrooms and trash receptacles.
Patrols golf course property to direct players in the proper pace of play and observance of course rules.
Announces starting times from the starter building, greets golfers, and reviews daily notices/rules.
Enforces established rules of the course among golfers, such as replacing divots and wearing proper clothing.
Takes measures to expedite play as necessary.
Promotes positive customer service relations.
Enforces established policies, rules, and regulations of the course.
Responsible for cleaning and stocking restrooms as needed throughout the day.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and the general public.
Assists in bringing golf carts to the pro shop in the mornings and returning them to storage.
Assists in tournament operations, including staging golf carts, putting out sponsor signs, and post-event cleanup.
Receives and responds to complaints from golfers.
Relieves other personnel at the golf course when necessary.
