About The Position

Accountable for the various functions relating to the daily operations of the golf course and shop. Provides customer service to golfers. Ensures accurate accounting of all transactions, collections and disbursements. Coordinates functions relating to cash management and golf shop operations in accordance with established University policies.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work 1 weekend and at least 6 total shifts a month
  • Has knowledge of golf or has the willingness to learn.
  • Ability to handle keep customer information private and confidential.
  • Comfortable working with computers and learning the sales software.
  • Maintain professionalism when dealing with all staff and other customers while fostering positive working relationships.
  • Adhere to the governing documents, policies and procedures established by St. Bonaventure University.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Golf Course Experience Preferred
  • 1-2 years of golf related experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Carries out the daily function of the golf shop including but not limited to: checking in customers (for all transactions, leagues, and tournaments), coordinating tee times, organizing cart rentals (assigning golf cart, monitoring their return, and cleaning the carts) and processing sales of merchandise and services.
  • Accurately maintains and adds to the records on customer profiles and memberships. Keeping thorough records of each transaction and tee time. Register new guests and updates old profile information as needed.
  • Inform visitors of course conditions, prices, special events, hours of operation, etc. Works with the ranger to enforce all rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course, golf carts and other golf facilities. Carries out starter tasks on the first tee when a ranger is unavailable.
  • Creates an inviting indoor shop environment and encourages the sale of merchandise. Maintains, restocks, and promotes the sale of merchandise, snack shack items, and all other indoor and outdoor displays.
  • Work includes interior and exterior maintenance activities to the golf shop and general sales area, including raking, sweeping, and vacuuming. Ensures all surfaces and displays are clean and attractive. Empty trash cans as needed.
  • Completes opening and closing tasks as appropriate and ensures accuracy of cash drawer at the start and end of each shift.
