Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to use tools such as drill press, grinder, torches, welder
Nice To Haves
- Experience maintaining golf carts and bicycles
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
Responsibilities
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to locate cause of trouble
- Raises vehicle, with hydraulic jack or hoist, to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of vehicle.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
- Removes unit such as engine, transmission, or differential.
- Examines form and textures of parts to detect imperfection and dimensional requirements
- Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear.
- Repairs or replaces parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
- Rewires ignition system, lights, and instrument panel.
- Install special functional and structural parts and devices
- Replaces and adjusts headlights, and installs and repairs accessories such as mirrors and tires
- Lubricate and clean parts
- Maintain golf carts and bicycles
- Start devices to test performance
- Keep daily log to track repairs
- Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, torches, welder and other metal working tools
- Keep a preventive maintenance program on both golf carts and bicycles
- Help guest with mechanical needs
