About The Position

We are seeking a Golang Developer for a 6+ month contract role. This position is 100% remote, with a preference for candidates in the EST time zone. The role involves working with AWS, Networking, and Kubernetes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Proven, hands-on proficiency in Go and/or Rust, with demonstrated production systems built with these languages.
• Solid experience building and operating distributed data systems: event streaming (Kafka, Kinesis, or equivalent), time-series databases, and high-throughput ingestion pipelines.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems: consistency models, failure modes, backpressure, idempotency, and exactly-once vs. at-least-once processing tradeoffs.
• Experience with cloud-native deployment: containerization (Docker), Kubernetes orchestration, and operating services across at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure).
• Familiarity with observability tooling — structured logging, metrics (Prometheus/Grafana or equivalent), and distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry or equivalent).
• Comfortable writing SQL and working with both relational and time-series data models; experience with schema design and query optimization.
• Strong engineering practices: test-driven or test-informed development, code review, CI/CD, and operational ownership including on-call.

Responsibilities

• Develop and ship production services at scale using Go.
• Build and operate distributed data systems, including event streaming, time-series databases, and high-throughput ingestion pipelines.
• Implement and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Deploy and operate services on a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Utilize observability tooling for structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
• Write SQL queries and work with relational and time-series data models, including schema design and query optimization.
• Adhere to strong engineering practices such as test-driven development, code review, CI/CD, and operational ownership, including on-call responsibilities.
