About The Position

Turing is seeking a Go (Golang) Developer to work as a Software Engineering evaluator on initiatives that train, benchmark, and advance large language models. The role involves collaborating with researchers to curate code examples, provide precise solutions, and correct code, primarily in Go and also in Python, JavaScript (including ReactJS), C/C++, Java, and Rust. You will evaluate and refine AI-generated code for efficiency, scalability, and reliability, and work with cross-functional teams to improve enterprise-level AI-driven coding solutions. You will also build agents and automated verification mechanisms to assess code quality, identify error patterns, and verify software engineering task solutions. The work spans evaluating model capabilities across the software engineering cycle, from prototyping and architecture or API design through production implementation, launch, experiments, monitoring, and operational maintenance. This is a flexible contractor engagement requiring at least 10 hours per week and allowing up to 40 hours per week. The initial duration is one month, with potential extensions based on performance and fit. Candidates must be based in the US, Canada, or Western European countries. The application process takes 15–30 minutes and requires an AI video interview. The engagement does not include medical benefits or paid leave.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong expertise in building full-stack applications and deploying scalable, production-grade software using modern languages and tools.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, design, development, debugging, and code quality and review assessment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for clear, structured evaluation rationales.
  • Must be based in the US, Canada, or a Western European country.
  • Must complete an AI video interview as part of the application process.

Responsibilities

  • Curate code examples, develop solutions, and correct code for AI model training initiatives, primarily in Go and also in Python, JavaScript (including ReactJS), C/C++, Java, and Rust.
  • Evaluate and refine AI-generated code for efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve AI-driven coding solutions against industry performance benchmarks.
  • Build agents that verify code quality and identify error patterns.
  • Evaluate model capabilities across software engineering activities, including prototyping, architecture design, API design, production implementation, launch, experiments, monitoring, and operational maintenance.
  • Design verification mechanisms that can automatically verify solutions to software engineering tasks.
