Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking an experienced Guidance and Control (GNC) Engineer to join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting missile system and fire control system design, development, integration, and test. A GNC Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, integration, testing, and validation of the algorithms and hardware that enable a vehicle—whether a missile, unmanned aircraft, or manned spacecraft—to determine where it is, where it’s going, and how to get there safely and accurately. The role bridges multidisciplinary domains, combining control theory, aerospace dynamics, hardware modeling, simulation, and system‑level architecture. The GNC Engineer ensures that an air vehicle knows its state, decides on the optimal path, and executes that path reliably through robust guidance laws, precise navigation filters, sophisticated flight‑path planning, and stable autopilot/control systems—all validated through rigorous simulation and flight testing. Opportunities will exist to join small teams of engineers and algorithm developers on a variety of different programs that are in various stages of product development. Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers.
