About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has opportunities for Guidance Navigation Control Engineer OR Principal Guidance Navigation Control Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA! This role involves designing, developing, implementing, verifying, and testing algorithms and software and simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft. Responsibilities include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality, formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation, or orbit, and control design and analyses processes which consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft. This position may be filled at the GNC Engineer level or the Principal GNC level, depending upon the qualifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master of Science degree in a relevant STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience (for GNC Engineer).
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master of Science degree in a relevant STEM discipline with 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a relevant STEM discipline with 1 year of related engineering experience (for Principal GNC Engineer).
  • Ability to obtain a US Government Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.
