GNC Algorithm Engineer - Electro-Optical Sensors

Mavensoft Technologies.•Chandler, AZ
•Onsite

About The Position

The GNC Algorithm Engineer develops, implements, verifies, and tests algorithms, software, and simulation tools for guidance, navigation, and control. The work may support aircraft, spacecraft, submersibles, surface ships, missiles, launch vehicles, and upper stages across powered and coast phases of launch and flight, Earth orbit, interplanetary cruise, orbital insertion, and staging events. Navigation work includes statistically processing measured data points and incorporating them into algorithms that simulate physical reality. Guidance work involves formulating equations to achieve desired positions, orientations, or orbits in space. Control design and analysis involve developing control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles, and/or spacecraft. This is a 12-month, on-site W2 contract role in Chandler, Arizona. The role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, and involves travel 10% of the time.

Requirements

  • Experience with Kalman filtering.
  • Experience with signal processing for guided missiles and/or interceptors.
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining algorithms and analysis tools in C++, MATLAB, and Python.
  • Strong foundation in probability theory and statistics.
  • Experience with electro-optical imaging systems.
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Travel 10% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or applied mathematics.
  • Experience with onboard/offboard sensor fusion.
  • Experience analyzing large Monte Carlo data sets and/or designing and analyzing simulation experiments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, verify, and test guidance, navigation, and control algorithms, software, and simulation tools.
  • Develop or support algorithms and tools for aircraft, spacecraft, submersibles, surface ships, missiles, launch vehicles, and upper stages during powered and coast phases, flight, orbit, cruise, orbital insertion, and staging events.
  • Perform navigation functions involving statistical processing of measured data points and their use in algorithms simulating physical reality.
  • Formulate guidance equations to achieve desired positions, orientations, or orbits in space.
  • Develop control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles, and/or spacecraft.
