About The Position

The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Operations Specialist works with GME leadership to develop, implement, and monitor analytics that support the GME enterprise at the University of Vermont Medical Center. They provide comprehensive operational, financial, and administrative support to ensure the effective functioning of Graduate Medical Education programs. They must be proactive in identifying issues and opportunities to enhance data management and reporting efforts for GME and is responsible for both detailed and high-level problem solving, data analysis and reporting from various internal and external systems. They will serve as the system administrator for residency management applications, including NRMP and the Residency Management System. This position is accountable for facilitating projects to achieve desired outcomes as identified by GME leadership to include: resource coordination, project management, project implementation, analytics and reporting. They manage onboarding and credentialing processes for residents and fellows and collaborates on projects that advance GME goals and meet ACGME requirements. Additionally, the position supports GMEC operations, maintains key departmental systems and communications, and provides high-level administrative assistance to GME leadership to promote an efficient, professional, and responsive GME office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care related field, or related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills with demonstrated ability in managing multiple projects under timeline pressures while maintaining an engaging and positive attitude.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to anticipate the needs of the department.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with all levels of staff and management.
  • Excellent analytic and computer skills including use of database and spreadsheet tools.
  • Skilled in prioritizing both short- and long-term goals and ability to adjust workflow to accommodate changing priorities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously working independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative manner.
  • Ability to function with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Skilled in learning to work with new data management platforms.
  • Skilled at presenting information to large and small groups.

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years experience in a complex health care setting preferred.
