About The Position

A GM Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining General Motors vehicles, including Cadillac models, according to manufacturer standards. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service and customer satisfaction. Technicians work with advanced diagnostic equipment and stay current on GM service procedures, technologies, and training requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, service bulletins, and technical information.
Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
All applicants must demonstrate the ability to pass pre-employment testing, including a background check, MVR, and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

Previous automotive repair experience preferred.
GM certification and/or ASE certifications preferred.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle concerns.
Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, drivetrains, steering, suspension, braking, HVAC, and electrical systems.
Use GM-approved diagnostic tools, software, and repair procedures.
Complete warranty and customer-pay repairs according to GM and dealership standards.
Perform routine maintenance services, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
Accurately document repair orders, inspections, and service recommendations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Communicate effectively with service advisors and management regarding vehicle repairs and status updates.
Stay current on GM training, service bulletins, and emerging vehicle technologies, including hybrid and electric vehicles.
Assist less experienced technicians when needed.
