GM, AI Services

LelandLehi, UT

About The Position

Leland is seeking an AI-native, founder-type individual to establish and lead its AI Services business from inception. This role involves full ownership of the Profit and Loss (P&L), client acquisition, development of the service delivery model, and resource management for rapid business scaling. The ideal candidate will have experience in building or leading an AI services agency and is looking for an opportunity with significant equity, a fast-paced environment, and a larger platform for growth. Leland is a rapidly growing AI education company that trains professionals to build AI workflows and automations. The company is now ready to monetize this expertise by offering AI services to external clients, including strategy sessions, workflow implementation, and agent architecture. This is a new position, and the first dedicated hire for AI Services, reporting to the Head of GMs, with substantial variable compensation and equity potential.

Requirements

  • AI-Native with a Strong Technical Foundation: Ability to evaluate client architecture, accurately scope implementation work, and quality-assure team's output.
  • Demonstrated technical capability through one or more of the following: a portfolio of complex AI builds (agents, automation workflows, n8n or similar pipelines, MCP integrations), significant work experience in software engineering, data, or technical product, or a technical academic background/self-taught path.
  • Credibility to provide clients with credible architecture recommendations on initial calls.
  • High-Agency Owner: Proven track record of owning a number and driving results, such as founding a company, running a business line, carrying a sales quota, or leading a revenue-generating team.
  • Experience in identifying opportunities, building strategies to pursue them, and closing deals independently.
  • Ideal candidate has prior experience building an AI services firm, understanding sales cycles, project scoping, client expectation management, and repeatable delivery models.
  • Systems Thinking: Ability to build a scalable machine rather than just focusing on immediate deals.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to create the first playbook.
  • Credibility derived from technical depth.
  • Grit: Willingness to handle all aspects of the business, from initial calls to follow-ups.
  • Fast-paced execution: Prioritizing and acting on tasks immediately.
  • Builder Mentality: Instinct to prototype and build rather than just discuss.
