About The Position

The Global Vice President, Therapeutic Strategy serves as a strategic therapeutic advisor across Worldwide’s core therapeutic areas in Oncology, Rare, CardioMetabolic and Neuroscience, supporting commercial and broader organizational initiatives. This cross-functional leadership role spans the customer lifecycle—from initial presentations through project award—and collaborates with business development, marketing, operational teams, and other functional areas to develop innovative strategies to drive new business and gain market share. The role includes direct line management of Therapeutic Strategy Leads.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field; advanced degree (Master’s, PhD, MD) preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of global clinical research experience, including operational delivery and/or drug development.
  • Proven track record in clinical trial delivery or drug development.
  • Deep understanding of Worldwide Clinical Trials’ services and offerings.
  • Understanding of the commercial sales process.
  • Broad therapeutic area knowledge and cross-functional expertise.
  • Strong decision-making skills with limited information.
  • Ability to balance strategic priorities in high-pressure environments.
  • Global and regional knowledge of the biopharma industry and clinical trial delivery.
  • Robust understanding of scientific, regulatory, and commercial landscapes.
  • Expertise in GCP and ICH guidelines.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership in virtual and matrixed environments.
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen, including financial and negotiation skills.
  • Flexibility to support work in other therapeutic areas as needed.
  • Proficiency in technology and research tools.
  • Effective mentoring and training capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of Therapeutic Strategy Leads through coaching, career development, and performance management.
  • Develop the therapeutic go to market strategy in conjunction with the Therapeutic Area Leads.
  • Work in collaboration with the Business Insights and Analysis team lead to generate market data, CAGRs, therapeutic modalities, planned and predicted trials to conduct a full analysis.
  • The market data will be used the by the TSL to support: Identification of specific therapeutic indications of focus. Analysis on required resources to support the growth of identified indications to focus on.
  • Develop and contract with key consultants and KOLs in identified growth areas.
  • Drive collateral material, webinars and conferences that support the growth of the indications.
  • Serve as a senior advisor for corporate and cross-functional initiatives, with potential specialization in a specific therapeutic area or specialty area.
  • Support overall therapeutic area(s) market strategy, including support of conferences and speaking engagements.
  • Work in conjunction with the North America and European Commercial managers to develop appropriate sales targets based on the identified market and growth areas.
  • Develop and support Sales Development training on the collateral and outreach approaches for each therapeutic area.
  • In person attendance and support for key therapeutic conferences.
  • Support attendance at client meetings.
  • Support annual Gross New Business targets by contributing to strategic and tactical new business wins.
  • Evaluate new customer opportunities and guide internal teams to develop feasible delivery solutions.
  • Support Sales in customer meetings and bid defenses, articulating strategy and win themes.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with sites, patient advocacy groups, and other stakeholders where the organization does not have formed relationships.
  • Collaborate with medical and clinical professionals to ensure that therapeutic intent and current disease management strategies (IP differentiation and patient journeys) are reflected in operational strategy and proposals.
  • Partner with Business Development and Operations to create effective delivery strategies for clinical trials of varying complexity and scale.
  • Support project delivery teams with critical success factors that can influence the operational strategy.
  • Mentor Project Leads as necessary through strategy handovers and client presentation preparation.
  • Build and manage patient alliances and advocacy groups across therapeutic areas.
  • Oversee consultant relationships and performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
