About The Position

The Global Transportation Manager is responsible for leading the company’s end-to-end transportation strategy, including procurement, execution, and governance across all domestic and international shipping activities. This role requires deep expertise in supply chain and transportation management, including experience with 3PL/4PL partners and Transportation Management Systems (TMS). The ideal candidate builds and develops high-performing teams, fosters strong and enduring relationships with transportation providers, and champions a customer-centric mindset. They drive data-informed decision-making, operational excellence, and continuous process improvement, while effectively managing costs within budget and delivering on strategic initiatives. This leader proactively anticipates challenges and mitigates risk by staying closely aligned with business trends and priorities. They are highly collaborative, working cross-functionally and across geographies with key internal and external stakeholders. A disciplined, LEAN, and data-driven approach—combined with a commitment to continuous improvement and high operational standards—is essential to success in this role.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Business, Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or relevant experience
  • 8 + years of relevant work experience leading domestic and international transportation
  • Excellent understanding of global and regional transportation/ logistics, procurement and vendor management
  • Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma, DEMAIC methodologies and track record on driving operational improvements.
  • Demonstrated depth and excellence with negotiations with regional, national and international ocean, trucking, intermodal and parcel carriers including drop ship capabilities
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and the ability to build tools and reports to keep a strong pulse on transportation
  • You are passionate about providing our customers with an outstanding Precor experience.
  • You're self-directed, proactive and able to define and complete projects independently.
  • Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, and developing scalable solutions.
  • You have strong intuition for business, with excellent written and verbal communication skills to find a path forward with the most divergent points of view.
  • You have the experience in analyzing transportation metrics and data-driven decision-making.
  • You can strengthen team skills to run robust daily, weekly and monthly dashboards, reports and Root Cause Analysis.
  • You can roll up your sleeves and do whatever is vital to achieve objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and execution of US domestic and global transportation strategies, working closely with internal customers (sales, marketing, supply chain, operations, IT, and finance) to achieve business growth and meet the needs of our customers. Remains fully in-synch with the fast-paced business requirements and provides operational and logistics options and solutions.
  • Lead efforts to analyze transportation performance, identifying and prioritizing opportunities to reduce lead time and cost while improving the customer experience
  • Own carrier relationships to include supplier reviews, assessments, RFP/RFQ and contract negotiation and administration
  • Track, analyze and communicate transportation and carrier key performance metrics while holding providers accountable to meet targets
  • Analyze and recommend optimal network distribution models, supply chain architecture and tactics with regional extended teams
  • Develop, promote and retain top talent, directly leading team members that can be local, remote, and overseas
  • Set and manage annual budgets and quarterly simulations. Report on financial metrics as they relate to transportation
  • Define and implement a new global Transportation Management System.
  • Champion a LEAN, Six Sigma and data driven culture across all aspects of the role.
  • Support Precor trade compliance and the Global Trade Team with certifications such as C-TPAT, CSI, CCP and AEO.
  • Continuously benchmark and apply best-in class-capabilities and tools to leverage to ensure Precor mains clear advantages in the marketplace
