The Co-op term is from July, 2026 to January, 2027. Full time requirement (40 hours per week). 5 vacancies are currently available. Purpose: At Johnson & Johnson, Global Transportation blends logistics expertise with digital tools to partner with teams across the supply chain to deliver freight reliably, responsibly, and efficiently; supporting products that reach over a billion people every day. In the Fall 2026 Co‑Op, you’ll use transportation data to uncover trends, support execution, and help modernize how work gets done through reporting, process optimization, and technology adoption.

Requirements

  • Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Business, Finance, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.
  • Minimum sophomore standing before the co-op start date, with a graduation date after the contract end date.
  • Clear communicator (can write concise updates, summarize issues, and present findings in a simple, professional way)
  • Strong collaboration skills (comfortable working with different teams and asking good questions)
  • Strong ownership and organization (keep tasks moving, communicate early, and deliver on commitments)
  • Analytical approach (able to spot patterns, troubleshoot issues, and recommend practical improvements)
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment (can adjust priorities and stay calm when plans change)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint (basic formulas, sorting/filtering, clean slide building)
  • Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.
  • Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to write clear prompts and refine results
  • Experience with data/analytics tools such as Excel (pivot tables, lookups), Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Exposure to basic SQL and/or Python for data cleanup, analysis, or automation (coursework or projects acceptable).
  • Interest in process automation (Power Automate, macros, scripts) and improving workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Help modernize transportation workflows through process digitization, critical metric/dashboard reporting, and adoption enablement for transportation platforms and tools.
  • How tech and automation improve operations; requirements gathering, user testing/UAT, change management, and what drives successful adoption.
  • Digital solutions and system enhancements (application development, dashboard, automation, workflow improvement, or documentation/training material) that reduces manual effort, improves data quality, and drives business value.
  • Help drive end-to-end shipment visibility by monitoring key milestones, flagging risks, and supporting issue resolution with internal teams and logistics partners.
  • How cross-border logistics works; incoterms awareness, documentation basics, handoffs between partners, and what “best-in-class” looks like for service and compliance.
  • Clear status updates and simple insights (e.g., lane performance, dwell time trends, recurring issues) that help the team improve reliability and reduce delays.
  • Day-to-day transportation execution by supervising shipments, assisting with exceptions, and contributing to service performance metrics (OTD, carrier benchmarks, critical issues).
  • How J&J Global Transportation and extended teams keep freight moving when plans change; prioritization, problem-solving, and balancing cost, service, and speed.
  • Practical improvements like dashboard metrics, cleaner reporting, and documented playbooks/SOP updates that make execution faster and more consistent.
  • Support freight invoice validation by researching exceptions (duplicates, accessorials, rate variances), helping resolve disputes, and improving audit accuracy.
  • How transportation spend is manage; rate validation fundamentals, invoice lifecycle, common billing issues, and how controls protect cost and compliance.
  • Actionable insights that reduce repeat issues (root cause themes, supplier/carrier trends) plus improved exception tracking or a control/process update.
