About The Position

The Global Trade Compliance & Customs Specialist is responsible for supporting and managing the company’s global trade compliance activities as the organization expands internationally. This role helps ensure compliance with import, export, customs, and trade regulations while partnering with internal teams to facilitate the efficient movement of products across global markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs, import/export operations, or international logistics.
  • Familiarity with tariff classification, country of origin requirements, and free trade agreements.
  • Working knowledge of global import/export regulations and customs requirements.
  • Experience working with customs brokers and international logistics providers.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in dietary supplements, food, pharmaceuticals, consumer packaged goods, or another regulated industry.
  • Professional trade compliance certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day import and export compliance activities, ensuring adherence to all applicable U.S. and international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
  • Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s global trade compliance program, including policies, controls and governance practices.
  • Monitor changes to international trade laws, and customs regulations; assess business impact and recommend process improvements to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Partner with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to ensure accurate documentation, efficient customs clearance, and compliant international shipments.
  • Perform and support tariff classifications, country of origin determinations, customs documentation, and maintenance of import/export documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Apply working knowledge of U.S. export controls, economic sanctions and restricted party regulations, including support for denied party screening, export licensing assessments, and trade sanctions compliance.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Procurement, Finance, and Legal to integrate trade compliance requirements into business operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support customs audits, internal compliance reviews, and corrective actions as needed to address identified compliance gaps.
  • Develop and maintain trade compliance procedures, documentation, and training materials.
  • Analyze trade compliance process and operational trends to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, risk reduction, and cost savings while supporting business growth initiatives.
  • Up to 15% travel with limited local driving required at times.
  • 2 onsite days per week is an essential function of this position.
