About The Position

We're looking for a Global Trade Compliance Specialist Senior who can support the entire organization by providing technical expertise on import and export operations and ensuring compliance with applicable trade laws and regulations worldwide. This role plays a key part in maintaining and enhancing MTS's trade compliance program, safeguarding the company's ability to operate as a trusted global importer and exporter, and ensuring the company does not conduct business with sanctioned or restricted parties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years’ experience in trade compliance roles and with import / export responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge and experience in import regulations and solid knowledge and experience in export regulations
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with internal business teams and external third-party supply chain providers
  • Demonstrated experience of keeping abreast of import and export requirements to advise business teams
  • Experience in problem solving
  • Self-starter and experience working with moderate supervision

  • SAP and GTS knowledge and experience (highly desired)
  • SalesForce (desired but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily execution of related export/import operations: Export compliance due diligence including restricted parties, end-use and sanctioned country screening.
  • Serves as an organization-wide resource supporting the resolution of import and export compliance issues, partnering with cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, Supply Chain, Sales, Engineering, and Logistics) to ensure trade compliance is integrated into daily business operations, with familiarity with the BIS/EAR, ITAR, and OFAC sanctions regulations.
  • Investigation and due diligence analysis and/or definition of corrective measures to remediate import and export compliance issues, including support for responses to government inquiries, audits, or investigations related to trade compliance matters.
  • Monitors changes in trade regulations and sanctions programs, and communicates the impact of such changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Participates in the development of global policies, periodic auditing, and procedures to ensure effective compliance to all applicable import/export regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures the development of education and training to ensure effective compliance to applicable import/export regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and execute projects and initiatives relating to export/import compliance and/or process simplification and streamlining.
