About The Position

Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. The Global Supply Manager, Machining will work closely with stakeholders across Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Planning, and more to design and scale both existing and novel supply chains in the sourcing and development of complex machined components that create a competitive advantage for the enterprise. This role involves leading sourcing and supplier management for custom machined components and major vehicle structures, developing and executing supply chain strategies, partnering cross-functionally to influence design for manufacturability, driving supplier performance, and mentoring team members. The ideal candidate will act as a thought leader for machining commodities, continuously improving sourcing processes, supplier health, and program readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in supply chain, sourcing, or procurement
  • Demonstrated experience managing suppliers for complex aerospace or advanced manufacturing commodities
  • Proven track record of negotiating contracts and managing milestone-based agreements
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (LN, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, 5-axis milling, turning, precision grinding, EDM, and tight-tolerance fabrication

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering
  • Direct experience managing machining commodities in aerospace (CNC machined components, castings, forgings, sheet metal fabrication, extrusions, etc.)
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and NADCAP standards (specifically for machining processes), supplier qualifications, and audit processes
  • Proven success driving supplier performance improvements through KPIs, recovery plans, and long-term agreements
  • New Product Development (NPD) or Introduction (NPI) supply chain experience, preferably within aerospace or frontier technology industries
  • Proficiency in supplier risk assessment, machining cost modeling, and capacity planning
  • Understanding of material specifications, surface treatments, and inspection requirements for aerospace-grade machined parts

Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing and supplier management for custom machined components and major vehicle structures ensuring cost, quality, and delivery targets are achieved
  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies, including supplier selection, long-term agreements, and capacity planning to support Terran-R build schedules
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Planning to influence design for manufacturability and align procurement with program milestones
  • Drive supplier performance through rigorous risk management, contract negotiations, and milestone-based tracking
  • Mentor and support team members, building expertise in precision machining processes and supplier development
  • Act as a thought leader for machining commodities, continuously improving sourcing processes, supplier health, and program readiness
