About The Position

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions, essential for semiconductor chips and advanced displays. This 30-month Supply Chain Undergraduate Rotational Development Program offers participants the chance to function primarily as a Business Intelligence Analyst, with rotations in Project/Program Management and Supplier Account Management over the first 12 months. Following the rotations, participants will move into a Final Placement role as a Business Intelligence Analyst, building on skills acquired during the program. The program aims to develop technical and business skills within the Supply Chain organization through a blended learning environment including mentorship, job shadowing, and networking opportunities. Participants will gain high-level visibility and make a significant impact within a global manufacturing organization.

Requirements

This is a 24-month rotational program. Candidates should be prepared to complete the full program.
Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Industrial Distribution, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related fields.
Good academic standing with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
Proficiency in developing effective executive reports and presentations.
Proficiency in Microsoft office tools.
Excellent listening, writing, quantitative, qualitative and oral communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact cross-organizationally.

Responsibilities

Assisting with development, alignment, and implementation of commodity strategies across Applied Business Units.
Driving resolution to systematic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-time.
Assisting in developing and presenting high-level cost reduction opportunities.
Presenting sourcing, cost, lead time reduction, capacity initiatives to key stakeholders.
Forecasting and communicating engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
Providing critical input to outsourcing decisions by performing Make vs. Buy analysis.
Using existing BKMs to develop well defined reports / solutions using Databricks, SQL and Tableau.
Participates in the design, development and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. used to drive key business decisions.
Works within controls to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and confidentiality of all managerial and business intelligence reports, views, dashboards, and user data.
Implements new business reports within the established reporting framework, policies and procedures.
Trains and supports end users on accessing of reports.
Analyzes and interprets data and business intelligence reports.
Works with others in the development of data warehouses and other data sources to support managerial and business intelligence reporting needs.
Works with business intelligence manager and other staff to assess various reporting needs.
Analyzes reporting needs and requirements, assesses current reporting in the context of strategic goals and devise plans for delivering the most appropriate reporting solutions to users.
Educates & trains user community on the potential uses of the business intelligence system.
Extracts financial, statistical and other data from various information systems and other sources.
Designs and develops recurring and ad-hoc business intelligence solutions such as reports, cubes, and dashboards, using industry best practices for presentation, efficiency, and user friendliness.
Designs reports to aid in the efficient assimilation of the data by users by engaging exception reporting.
