About The Position

This position is responsible for the global sourcing strategy and supplier relationship management to deliver a world class supplier base to Pure Fishing. The Sourcing Category Manager reports to the VP, Global Sourcing and works closely with the rest of Sourcing and Supply Chain organization, Operations, Product Management, Sales and Business Development leaders to support and sustain a profitable product portfolio that provides the company with competitive advantage in terms of cost, quality and performance.

Requirements

  • BS in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Sourcing or related experience
  • OEM experience in Low Cost Region
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Extensive knowledge of OEM landscape in Low Cost Regions and capability to analyze souring issues, recommend solutions and strategies as well as implement changes
  • Strong knowledge of the strategic sourcing methodology and its application (e.g. should cost mold and fact-based negotiations)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage strategic supplier relationships, including relationship building, performance development and integration
  • Results-oriented and demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills, including an understanding of legal terms and conditions with contract management
  • Strong analytical skills, including a demonstrated ability to synthesize, interpret, and communicate market and competitive data
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptive to internal processes and change, delays or unexpected events

Responsibilities

  • Organize and lead internal stakeholders in developing and implementing sourcing strategies for assigned Finished Goods categories
  • Source and purchase resin globally, representing approximately 30% of the role, including supplier selection, pricing, commercial agreements, capacity and supply continuity
  • Monitor resin market conditions, pricing indexes, feedstock trends and supply availability to support sourcing decisions, negotiations and cost forecasts
  • Partner with Operations, Product Development and Quality to evaluate resin specifications, alternative materials and supplier qualifications
  • Develop strong preferred supplier relationships across the entire value chain, including OEM and resin suppliers
  • Conduct global business reviews to drive KPI performance, including lead time, on-time delivery, quality, production support and flexibility
  • Assist the business in resolving critical quality, service and supply problems
  • Manage Sourced Finished Goods and resin costs to achieve organizational goals
  • Negotiate global contractual agreements with OEM and resin suppliers
  • Perform RFQ events for assigned categories
  • Conduct risk mitigation analysis across the supply base and develop contingency plans for critical materials and suppliers
