About The Position
The Global Sourcing and Supply Manager (GSSM) acts as a key interface among the Worldwide Operations Team, strategic suppliers, and contract manufacturers. This role is responsible for managing strategic and tactical initiatives of the Apple supply chain, focusing on a specific commodity and playing a critical role in the overall success of Apple Operations. The position involves acting as a resident expert in an assigned commodity, collaborating with the Worldwide Team to plan manufacturing capacity, prepare the supply chain for new product ramps, lead timely actions to resolve supply issues, and provide accurate risk assessments and supply projections. The role also includes managing forecast and supply, ensuring supply chain flexibility to minimize risks, and managing and developing suppliers to maintain industry-leading quality, delivery, and cost. Additionally, the GSSM will develop and maintain professional and productive business partnerships with suppliers, work with Apple cross-functional teams and the supply chain to achieve business goals, and spot improvement opportunities in the supply chain to execute key initiatives and strategies. Participation in supplier evaluation and selection is also a responsibility.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree
- English and Japanese fluency is required
- Quick learner
- Demonstrated ability to drive and deliver strategic business initiatives

Nice To Haves
- Operations/supply chain management or commodity management experience is a plus
- Familiar with Python/Tableau, data analysis etc. is a plus
- Mandarin fluency is a plus
- MBA is a plus but not required
