About The Position

The Role As a Global Security Operations Specialist, you will directly supervise GM site security leaders and provide quality assurance oversight for contracted site security teams at assigned GM sites located in the United States. You will support security and fire protection operational activities and oversee risk identification and mitigation efforts. You will advise the business unit and site leadership on security and fire protection, and support implementation and compliance with global security policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Five years of progressively responsible, security related experience with a demonstrated understanding of security operations (to include threat and risk management, workplace violence prevention, security and fire technology, and quality assurance for contracted services).
  • Working knowledge of video surveillance systems, access control and security systems.
  • Ability to facilitate and support implementation of corporate policies and best practices for security, fire prevention, and related policies at assigned sites.
  • Proficient with Microsoft programs.
  • Analytical, planning, organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience or working knowledge of manufacturing and warehousing operations.
  • Avigilon and Lenel experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and oversight to site security leaders at assigned GM sites.
  • Provide quality assurance support (to include quality audits) at assigned GM sites and ensure compliance with GM Global Security Manual and site specific Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide support and guidance to local site operations and site leadership to ensure effective implementation of security and fire protection measures.
  • Maintain regular communication with GM site leadership (including but not limited to Site Director, HR/LR Director, Manufacturing Engineering, Workplace Safety, etc.) regarding security and fire protection compliance and other emerging issues.
  • Initiate continuous improvement activities to ensure high quality and cost-effective security and fire protection services are provided to assigned sites.
  • Partner with GM Security Technology team to identify opportunities for security system upgrades based on lifecycle, risk reduction and efficiency.
  • Ensure adequate security staffing is in place to mitigate risk and comply with minimum GM requirements.
  • Research and make recommendations on the implementation of best practices and other key initiatives.
  • Support completion of the annual site security vulnerability assessment and ensure appropriate communication to leadership to support compliance and risk reduction.
  • Provide recommendations on security and fire related operations, policy, and technology applications to GM site leadership.
  • Assure all incidents are reported, documented, and communicated in accordance with procedures.
  • Conduct after action reviews following significant incidents, identify incident trends and ensure appropriate corrective action is communicated and completed.
  • Partner with GM Investigations groups to ensure awareness of incidents and timely follow up.
