About The Position

Corteva Agriscience is currently seeking to hire a Global Regulatory & Business Partner - Seed Applied Technology (GRL-BP). The purpose is to be the voice of regulatory within the Seed Applied Technology (SAT) Segment for business and functional leadership. This role is accountable to lead regulatory teams to develop and successfully implement regulatory strategies in support of the SAT Segment at Corteva. The GRL-BP functionally reports to, and is supervised by, the Global Regulatory Affairs Leader. As a member of the Global SAT Segment Leadership Team, the GRL-BP receives direction from, and is accountable to, the Global SAT Segment Leader for global regulatory strategy objectives. The GRL-BP does not have direct reports but exercises leadership of global regulatory teams and individuals within R&D and other functions through influence, collaboration, and negotiation. This role leads global regulatory teams and supports regional regulatory teams to support business objectives and ensure the correct implementation of Corteva product development processes. It engages in regional regulatory teams to support and provide global perspective and oversight, and alignment on key regional objectives and communications. The GRL-BP often represents Corteva on industry bodies, at relevant trade and industry conferences, and actively monitors global policy trends to serve as a key consultant.

Requirements

  • Technical degree with specialization in agriculture, biology, genetics, chemistry, or an equivalent discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in registration and regulatory affairs of agricultural products with proven excellence in problem-solving.
  • Good understanding of the market dynamics related to the crop protection and/or seeds industry.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work on several projects simultaneously, efficiently, and independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to manage without authority and resolve conflict.
  • Dedicated team worker with an ability to motivate and engage.
  • Experience in regulatory team leadership is essential.
  • Excellent organization, planning and prioritization skills for self and team.
  • A clear and confident communicator (both written and verbal) able to articulate complex scientific ideas to non-experts and deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Agility, proactivity, and dynamism are essential in a growing international company.

Responsibilities

  • Provides regulatory guidance for development and implementation of technical and business strategies, as well as product development plans.
  • Leads global regulatory strategy development, communication, and implementation at the SAT Segment level, aligned to business goals and strategy, as well as Corteva R&D innovation goals.
  • Responsible for clearly communicating global regulatory strategy and key business updates to regulatory project teams to support informed decision-making.
  • Actively engages with regional regulatory colleagues to ensure the regulatory department provides a single voice for escalating issues.
  • Accountable for planning and managing the global regulatory budget for the Segment.
  • Serves as a key advisor on regulatory matters to Global and Regional Business Leaders and their respective networks, in collaboration with regional regulatory colleagues.
  • Maintains full awareness of all regulatory projects for the SAT portfolio, including critical regulatory milestones and issues.
  • Intervenes for, and escalates regulatory issues within, the Global Segment Leadership Team and R&D sub-functions.
  • Supports development of a world-class global regulatory function by sharing expertise and knowledge, notably guiding and mentoring regulatory colleagues.
  • Would serve as Global Regulatory Leader for some active ingredients in the SAT Segment.
  • Leads global regulatory project teams to successful approvals through strong partnerships with regulatory sciences and regulatory affairs colleagues.
  • Facilitates regulatory data reviews, registrability assessments, and regulatory project decision-making.
  • Leads regulatory teams to develop registrability assessments on third-party assets ahead of potential in-license opportunities.
  • Provides regulatory guidance for development and implementation of technical strategies, as well as active ingredient project plans and business cases.
  • Maintains accountability for strategy, planning and management of the global regulatory budget for the assigned active ingredient programs, in collaboration with functional and commercial colleagues.
  • Responsible for coordinating global regulatory advocacy as necessary to support achievement of regulatory program goals, aligned to the regulatory strategy.
