About The Position

While part of our Global Quality team, with colleagues across multiple sites worldwide, this role will be based in Milwaukee - Wisconsin, United States, reporting to the Global Quality Manager. You will collaborate across functions and regions, working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. The team focuses on food safety, product and process quality, and continuous improvement, implementing standards in a highly regulated environment. Collaboration, knowledge sharing, and diverse perspectives are central to how we work, enabling ongoing adaptation to evolving customer needs and quality requirements. What would your role be like? As a Quality Specialist, you will develop and implement standards and best practices to ensure that Oterra’s quality processes and systems are robust, compliant, and effective. You will focus on process and projects management that maintain and enhance product compliance and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Food Science/ Food technology/ Chemical engineering / Biochemistry/ Microbiology or any other related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a food safety or quality management and food production processes environment.
  • Working knowledge of GFSI, manufacturing processes, production technology, products, raw materials and quality, food safety and safety issues, local and global Food Safety legislation and regulations.
  • Working knowledge in HACCP, and risk assessment methodologies, Prerequisite programs, OPRP implementation, validation, monitoring, verification.
  • Internal auditor or lead auditor experience and knowledge.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis and corrective action management.
  • Hands-on experience with digital tools and systems (SharePoint, SAP, Advanced Excel, Power BI).
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM) and project/change management.
  • Fluency in English at business level proficiency.
  • Able to travel 10-15% annually

Responsibilities

  • Process Ownership: drive implementation and governance of quality processes to demonstrate compliance with quality management systems requirements.
  • Internal Audits: Plan, execute, and report on internal audits and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Ensure standard metrics rollout, validate data, build systematic databases, design dashboards, report performance, and trigger corrective actions.
  • Training & Competence development: Manage global training programs and support local deployment for target audience.
  • Certification: Execute assigned roles in internal standards and support the certification processes.
  • Continuous Improvement Projects: Lead and report on improvement initiatives across interfacing processes.
  • Expert Support: Provide guidance for products and quality process issue resolution from Oterra sites worldwide.
  • Digitalization Projects: Manage QMS digital tools (SharePoint, Power BI, Document Management System) including architecture design, testing, implementation, training, maintenance, and updates.
